High School Polar Bear Challenge, 2023
The Polar Bear Challenge is a compulsory High School fundraising event that we initiated last year. Here are the details for this year’s event:
WHERE: Muizenberg, Surfers Corner to Simon’s Town, Long Beach (Video route from last year’s event)
WHEN: Saturday, 27 May 2023 (Registration at 08h30, 9h00 – 12h00)
WHO: All High School Students & Staff are to attend
WHY: To have fun and raise funds for the Bursary Fund, a Buildings & Grounds Project at school, and a Sister School in need
HOW: Each student will receive a sponsorship form and is required to raise a minimum of R250. Please note that if a student loses their form, they are still required to raise a R250 contribution towards this event.
PARENTS/SIBLINGS AND SUPPORTERS: Please come out and support us! The best spots to cheer and wave from are: St James Beach (opposite the Law Enforcement building), Jager’s Walk (at Fish Hoek Beach), Glencairn Station (opposite Dixie’s Restaurant)/ You are also invited to join us at the finish at Long Beach. If you would like to walk part of the route we request that you follow the group – only once the very last High School student has passed – so as to keep this a student-centred event where our teenagers are empowered and High School spirit is nurtured.
This promises to be a fun morning out and we thank the Class 8 parents in advance for their enthusiastic coordination of this event, as well as to all of you for the many polar-bear-cold-water-pep-talks you may be having at home!
So gather your cubs and practice your growl!
We are so looking forward to it!
The Polar Bear Team gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
